When you’re running a business, you have to be able to automate and accelerate the process of generating profit. Once you’ve done this, your business can practically run itself. This means you’ll have a stable source of income for years to come and you won’t even need to lift a finger. So, how do you do that?
By running a successful ad campaign. All advertising is, really, is just an accelerant. That pretty much goes for any platform. It doesn’t matter if it’s Facebook, Google, Bing. Advertising really is just a means to speed up the way you make money.
Now, let’s talk about foundations. For an advertising campaign to be successful—or really any kind of venture—it has to have a solid foundation. What do I mean by a solid foundation? I’m talking about having a good working offer. You need to make sure that your website is able to handle conversions and is funneling people correctly so that when they land on your website, they know exactly what to do. If you don’t have that offer down, then running ads is just going to be a black hole.
Remember what I said earlier about advertising being an accelerant? All it does is just accelerate results and accelerate data. You can’t approach digital ads with a mindset of ‘I put a dollar in, I better get a dollar back by the end of the day’. It just does not work that way. You have to play the long game when it comes to advertising.
Next, let’s talk about simplicity. The biggest mistake that I see with a lot of ad managers is that they tend to over-complicate things for their clients. And that’s where they lose them. It’s much better if you just kept it SIMPLE. Use verbiage that is easy to understand. Use concepts that are easy to grasp. Not everyone knows what a CBO (campaign budget optimization) is, after all.
A lot of factors can affect the success or failure of your marketing campaign. A global event like a pandemic can shift how all businesses operate. My own agency lost a lot of clients when the pandemic hit. Fortunately, the ones we did keep were able to bounce back and even thrive. I chalk it up to our experience and persistence. We convinced them that now is actually the time to spend on ads because they’re so cheap. They haven’t been this cheap since the 2008 recession.
Lastly, in order for you to find success, you must always take care of yourself both physically and mentally. This is a taxing game you’re about to get yourself into, and you’ll need to be in tip-top shape.
